POLICY RESEARCH

THE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE

SYSTEM IN CANADA

The focus of my master’s thesis is the system of early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Canada. Using design thinking principles, I am examining the historical context, the social policies, and the governance structure that has led to Canada's current ECEC system. Design thinking serves as a tool to understand the complexities around this issue and to identify potential opportunities for innovation.

I regularly share work over social media to engage the public in the conversation around ECEC in Canada.

In November 2014, I was invited to present my research at the Mobilizing Knowledge portion of the national ChildCare 2020 Conference, held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
