MARC

MOBILE ASSISTIVE RESOURCE CONNECTION (ACADEMIC)

PROBLEM

The chronically homeless are an incredibly vulnerable population, and never more so than during a major weather event, such as a flood. It’s nearly impossible to access the chronically homeless population in order to provide timely support, evacuation, etc.

OUR SOLUTION

The Mobile Assistive Resource Connection (Marc) is a tool to provide a means of connection for those who are chronically homeless. In addition to its uses during a major weather event it can be used to secure shelter, health care, meals, safety information, and outreach support.

We made every effort to consider those living with vision and hearing impairments, language barriers and illiteracy by using colours, icons, voice recognition and voice to text.

Although we have yet to begin beta testing, marc has been presented internationally.
